De Bilderberg Coinferentie's
Samenkomst 2013
De eerste Bilderbergconferentie werd georganiseerd in 1954 naar aanleiding van de verslechterende relatie tussen de Verenigde Staten van Amerika en Europa. Initiatiefnemers waren o.a. de Pool Józef Retinger, Unilever-topman Paul Rijkens, de Belgische ex-premier Paul van Zeeland en Prins Bernhard. Deze politieke conferenties hadden een zeer geheim karakter. Daardoor zouden mensen van verschillend allooi en verschillende opvatting eerder geneigd zijn om deel te nemen. Deelname geschiedt slechts na persoonlijke uitnodiging. Toen minister Joseph Luns eind jaren 50 geheel onaangekondigd tot tweemaal toe zonder uitnodiging de conferentie trachtte binnen te dringen, werd hij op last van Prins Bernhard en een Rockefeller-telg geboden het pand te verlaten.
Volgens Bernhard was Luns te anticommunistisch en te kritisch geweest tegenover de doelen van de Bilderbergconferentie. De eerste conferentie was in Hotel De Bilderberg in Oosterbeek van 29 tot 31 mei 1954. Er werd onder meer van gedachten gewisseld over de houding tegenover het communisme, het communisme in Europese landen als Frankrijk en Italië, de Korea-oorlog en de Europese integratie. Prins Bernhard was voorzitter van de conferentie. Iedere genodigde had acht minuten spreektijd, maar ook buiten de zittingen om was er veel contact tussen de genodigden. Dit zorgde ervoor dat aan het eind van de conferentie de sfeer tussen de deelnemers erg goed was. De Bilderbergconferentie groeide door de jaren heen uit tot een vaste organisatie, die werd gefinancierd door giften en particulieren en (in elk geval de eerste van bedrijvenedities) in belangrijke mate door de CIA.
In de loop van de jaren hebben veel belangrijke en invloedrijke mensen aan de conferentie deelgenomen. Amerikaanse presidenten zoals George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, en verder Henry Kissinger, David Rockefeller, Jan Peter Balkenende. In 2004 was Bert Koenders aanwezig op een Bilderberg conferentie in Italië, en vele anderen. In 2010 werd de conferentie gehouden in de Spaanse stad Sitges, in hotel Dolce. Prins Bernhard bleef voorzittertot 1976, toen hij in opspraak raakte in verband met de Lockheedaffaire was dat ook ten einde. Daarna heeft Prinses Beatrix de rol van Prins Bernhard overgenomen. Tegenwoordig is de Belgische topman Étienne Davignon voorzitter. De organisatie heeft een hoofdkantoor in Leiden.

De groep wordt ook wel gezien als opstapje voor verschillende belangrijke posities, waaronder het Amerikaanse presidentschap. De Bilderbergers zijn de rijkste en machtigste mensen op deze aarde en werken gezamelijk kennelijk aan een nieuwe wereld orde. De Bilderbergorganisatie heeft veel weg van een octopus omdat zij een grote controle hebben over verschillende internationale industrieën. Al deze verschillende industrieën hebben allemaal hun eigen taak om de nieuwe wereld orde te bewerkstelligen. De Bilderbergers worden doelbewust op deze topposities geplaatst zodat zij politieke en economische beslissingen kunnen manipuleren.
